Our Story
Gratitudes Gifts & Home Decor began as a Gift Basket Venture in 1996, owned and operated by Sue Moule and Julie Huck out of Sue's family home. Due to the high demand for their offerings, the mother-daughter team quickly diversified and opened its beautifully eclectic storefront in 2000 — and Gratitudes has continued to thrive since its inception. With its plethora of gifts (many of them perfect for those with a great sense of humor!), customizable luxury furniture & decor collections and expert decorating services, Gratitudes Gifts & Home Decor has become a well-loved establishment in the heart of Historic Downtown Truckee.
Sue and Julie —
Both are longtime Tahoe-Truckee locals of over 54 years who have raised their families here. These women take pride in contributing to the economic success and growth of their beloved little town and are active members in its close-knit community. Gratitudes Gifts & Home Decor is a proud member of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce and the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association (TDMA), where Julie has also sat on the Board of Directors for over 17 years. Living in this quintessential Sierra Mountain town of Truckee has shaped Sue and Julie's distinct design style, which they describe as "an eclectic and inviting mountain home feel with welcoming comfort." While drawing inspiration from traditional "Old Tahoe" decor influences combined with the mountain/modern feel, Sue and Julie continually evolve and stay abreast of the newest trends and products for which they effortlessly and tastefully incorporate into their designs, creating a contemporary spin on classic mountain home decor.

Julie is passionate about her customers and their specific needs. She has 20 years of experience furnishing residential and small commercial spaces. Creating a timeless space for each and every person she works with is of utmost importance to Julie. She collaborates closely with her clients to create fresh, inviting and practical environments they can feel good about. Her philosophy is to reflect her clients' unique tastes, envision their ideas and bring them to fruition. Julie's designs — down to the smallest detail — truly exceed expectations.
Sue Moule
Owner & Creative Specialist
Sue has always had a keen eye for style as well as an affinity for all things related to decorating, including Art Deco and antiques. Her first big project was her own home and since opening Gratitudes, she is delighted to have helped hundreds of clients design their perfect living spaces as well. Sue loves using bold colors and textures in her designs, giving classic elements a fresh twist by mixing the old with the new — her creativity is endless! Sue's designs don't only look beautiful, they are also functional and comfortable for her clients that leave as friends.
