Retail Home Decor/Furniture Store Sales Associate

Gratitudes is a small, women-owned, family-run retail furniture and home décor store located in the heart of Historic Downtown Truckee. We take pride in offering unique gifts, thoughtfully curated home décor, and beautiful custom furniture, along with interior design services led by our owners, Julie and Sue. We’re seeking a career-minded individual who is a natural people person and enjoys building meaningful connections with customers.

This role is ideal for someone seeking a somewhat consistent part-time schedule, with the option to access health benefits. It is a great opportunity for someone interested in building a long-term role within the retail and home decor industry. Gratitudes offers partial employer-paid health insurance if desired, along with hourly compensation based on experience and relevant skill set. In addition to hourly pay, this role includes commission on all furniture sales!

An interest in home décor is essential, as you will be immersed in learning all things furniture within our eclectic boutique. Experience in furniture sales or the home décor industry is a plus, but not required. We are happy to train the right person who is eager to learn and contribute to the team.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Remain on their feet for the duration of a 7 to 8-hour shift.

  • Assist with unpacking merchandise and lifting items overhead.

  • Support light store upkeep, including cleaning, vacuuming, and dusting.

  • Be available on weekends. We are thoughtful about accommodating reasonable. family needs, with shifts scheduled any day of the week as we are open seven days a week.

  • Maintain reliable transportation and hold a valid driver’s license.

  • Present themselves in a professional and polished manner.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both loyal and new customers.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the furniture and home décor industry as it relates to Gratitudes.
